1868 Illustrated European maps.

In 1868, Dr. William Harvey illustrated various European maps as political figures in the publication Geographical Fun Being Humorous Outlines of Various Countries. The anthropomorphism of each country is even highlighted with the inclusion of their national costume, showing us the diverse personified cultures in the region.

Albanese says, "My work involves the construction of small-scale meticulously detailed models using various materials and objects to create emotive landscapes. Every aspect from the construction to the lighting of the final model is painstakingly pre-planned using methods which force the viewers perspective when photographed from a specific angle. Using a mixture of photographic techniques such as scale, depth of field, white balance and lighting I am able to drastically alter the appearance of my materials."

These Popular Nightclubs Of 1920s Paris Are 100% Terrifying

Those that are drawn to the more creepy side of life will be thrilled to find out that 1920s Paris was obsessed with all things macabre. And that goes for nightclubs, too. During the 20th century, a number of different cabarets opened across the city, complete with gargoyle ceilings, bone chandeliers and nightly shows that were just as creepy as they were strange.

In some of these nightclubs, drinks were served by little people who dressed as demons and performed tricks for the audience. Magic shows were also extremely popular. Nowadays, Paris is still home to a number of whimsical nightclubs and cabaret spots, but nothing quite like the creepy venues of yesteryear.
