These Popular Nightclubs Of 1920s Paris Are 100% Terrifying
Those that are drawn to the more creepy side of life will be
thrilled to find out that 1920s Paris was obsessed with all things
macabre. And that goes for nightclubs, too. During the 20th century, a
number of different cabarets opened across the city, complete with
gargoyle ceilings, bone chandeliers and nightly shows that were just as
creepy as they were strange.
Cabaret de l’Enfer (Cabaret of Hell)
Cabaret du Neant (Cabaret of Nothingness)
Cabaret des Truands (Cabaret of Truants)
In some of these
nightclubs, drinks were served by little people who dressed as demons
and performed tricks for the audience. Magic shows were also extremely
popular. Nowadays, Paris is still home to a number of whimsical
nightclubs and cabaret spots, but nothing quite like the creepy venues
of yesteryear.
